With his seven-piece band Wan-Afrika, Kwame hits the stage and lets you know that the African Roots Ambassador has arrived. He sings of the joys and sorrows of humanity, never forgetting his humility. The band has performed throughout the USA sharing the bill with notables like Third World, Mutabaruka, Pato Banton, Sonny Ade, Wailing Souls, Sonny Okusun and many others. Kwame has been the recipient of many industry awards and honorable mentions including: Martin International's Chicago Reggae Music Awards "Best Artist" and "Most Culture-Oriented Band".

BORIS
Japanese cult favorite sludge/doom rock trio Boris takes their name from a song on grunge godfathers the Melvins' Bullhead album. They also have a lot in common with the Melvins musically, including a fondness for heavily down-tuned guitar/bass tones and exceedingly slow tempos. But they also incorporate elements variously drawn from other sources, including psychedelic rock, punk, noise, minimalism, pure sludge-drone music ala Earth, and more. Also, despite the unpretentious psychedelic/stoner rock imagery that accompanies much of their work, there is an ambitiously experimental aspect to much of it.

MIKE DOUGHTY is a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He led the band Soul Coughing in the 1990s; and in 2000 he became a solo artist. His most famous songs include "Looking at the World from the Bottom of a Well" and "I Hear the Bells," both of which gained prominence from being featured on popular television shows. For this event he will be performing as an acoustic duo.
